11-10-02 FOUNDATION CONTINUES
ITS 'STORE SCHOLAR' INITIATIVE

Since its inception, The 11-10-02 Foundation has done its best to find and support students with a strong work ethic and positive attitude. One of our initiatives is called The 11-10-02 Foundation Store Scholarship. These scholarships benefit students who work at a grocery store, retail store or other similar kind of store while also going to school. They clearly have a strong work ethic – balancing school and a job is not easy! This fall, we chose another Store Scholar. Salma worked at a store during her senior year of high school and throughout the summer after graduation. Now in her freshman year of college, she continues to work every week at the store while going to school. As the first in her family to go to college, she has a lot to be proud of – and now, she can be proud to be one of our Scholars, too!

11-10-02 CONTINUES TO PROVIDE GRANTS AROUND THE COUNTRY
11-10-02 has continued to give out grants to nonprofits that help young people pursue interests like Art and Technology. This fall, for instance, 11-10-02 gave a grant to an organization in Tennessee that supports students with an interest in technology. They are using the grant to purchase more of the technological equipment they utilize while teaching students how to 'code'.

WHAT'S IN A DATE?  "11-10-02"  -- DID YOU KNOW?

The 11-10-02 Foundation is named after a date (November 10, 2002). So, it is only natural some people guess that is the date the organization was created. As we pass another November 10 on the calendar this fall, it's another chance to explain the name. The 11-10-02 Foundation actually started in 1998 – several years before 11-10-02. “11-10-02” represented the 30th birthday of the organization's founder & the idea that people under 30 can (& should) try to make a positive difference.
