11-10-02 FOUNDATION AWARDS
FALL GRANTS IN SEVEN STATES
Throughout the autumn months, The 11-10-02 Foundation has continued its pattern of funding grants throughout the country. In recent months, the foundation has funded seven more grants — to one organization apiece in Nevada, Michigan, Oregon, Idaho and New Jersey, and two of them in Pennsylvania. The list has included six organizations receiving a grant for at least the second time, and one organization receiving its first ever grant from 11-10-02. The grants have provided the funding for a range of educational needs for youth served by those organizations — including art supplies, STEM-related materials, books, and computers. TWENTY YEARS SINCE 11-10-02
When The 11-10-02 Foundation began in 1998, the date November 10, 2002 (the date after which the foundation was named) seemed far away. When that milestone date arrived, it was hard to believe how quickly four years had passed. It is even harder to believe 20 more years have now passed since that day in 2002. Over those two decades, some things have remained the same: we are still a small, volunteer-run organization, and we continue to try to make a small but hopefully meaningful difference — giving out grants and scholarships throughout the nation. Other things have changed: some of our earlier Scholars, for example, have completed school and now serve on our Board. Whether you’ve contributed time or money, shared encouragement or wisdom, we thank everyone who has played a role before and after the date 11-10-02.
